CASUAL CHEF

We are currently seeking an experienced, qualified casual chef to join our kitchen team.

Employment Type: Casual

Hours: 15–20hrs a week

Requirements:

  • Ideally 3-5yrs experience in a high-volume, strong turnover venue

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Quality attention to detail and time management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to interact positively with restaurant staff and management

  • Detailed knowledge of health and safety standards in the kitchen

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a high standard

  • Kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking and clean up

  • Assist in managing, motivating, leading and developing the kitchen team

  • Liaising and communicating with front-of-house staff

  • Maintain a high standard of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness, as well as health and safety procedures

  • Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers

  • Assist in managing food costs and supplier management to budget

  • Assist in managing staff costs to budget

  • Assist in managing and maintaining ordering of stock and produce

  • Collaborate with management, ensuring kitchen operations are aligned with the overarching goals of the company
